Honor Snacks | Food Service
This logo was created for a local small business vending company. The company would put a box of snacks in various offices around the Houston area. They would later come pick up the box and the money. Businesses would be “on their honor” to pay for the snacks.
I used Adobe Illustrator to create the logo. The hands were created freehand in Illustrator.
Bravos Mexican Restraurant | Food Service
I worked with a local print company to produce the Bravos Mexican Restaurant logo and accompanying menu and table topper.
I used Adobe Illustrator to freehand the chili pepper (not stock art). Added a nice font for name and finished with some decorative art elements at the bottom.
Menu an table topper was laid out in QuarkXpress using some stock art to add texture and variety to the background.
To minimize costs, menu and toppers were printed in a single pms color on light green paper.
2nd Nature | Local DJ
Concept piece I did for local breaks DJ, 2nd Nature. Using a black Sharpie, I drew the name, “2nd”, scanned it and converted it into vector art. I tweeked the name and added a stylized font to finish. I used Adobe Illustrator for this art.
The background image was an original photo I manipulated in Adobe Photoshop and converted to grayscale. The entire layout was done in QuarkXpress.
Keeping the project in black and white kept costs down when it went to press.
Advo Inc. | Direct Mail Advertising
One of the first jobs I had was as a desktop artist. I would take the client’s artwork, images and make layouts according to what the salesman had specified. In this role I would scan and retouch photos, make or manipulate vector art (maps, clip art), and layout the project.
I used Adobe Photoshop for the images, Adobe Illustrator for making maps/art and manipulating vector art, and used QuarkXpress for the layout.
I excelled in this role and went to on to add managing the software, hardware, and servers to my duties. I maintained approximately 20 desktops and 6 servers on a WAN. This included troubleshooting and repair of hardware and software issues.
I also assisted in the implementation of their online proofing site, handling client calls and performed associates training.
Large strategic accounts included Blockbusters, Popeye’s, Firestone, Domino’s, and Papa John’s.
